Medical Detox
The medical detox program at Granite Hills Hospital in West Allis, Wisconsin, is for adults ages 18 and up who are struggling with substance use disorder.

Detox With Dignity
Granite Hills Hospital offers medication-assisted treatment for adults detoxing from opiates. Our inpatient, medically supervised detoxification program can help patients stay comfortable as they start on the road to recovery with the help of physicians, nurses and clinicians specialized in addiction medicine. Prescribed medications, including Vivitrol® and Suboxone®, can help manage withdrawal symptoms and prevent relapse.
Benefits of our program may include:
- Less discomfort during withdrawal
- Reduced cravings
- Better results following treatment
- Successful abstinence from drugs
While the detoxification process may be short, it is often the most critical phase of recovery. We help patients regain their physical health before they begin
treatment. Patients work with a case manager to develop a discharge plan before they leave our program. The average length of stay is three to five days.
Our program provides:
- A complete history and physical upon admission
- 24/7 nursing care
- On-site, comprehensive psychiatric care
- Family education and support
- Individual discharge planning
We understand that each patient’s experience is different, and we are dedicated to providing a compassionate environment in which patients receive the medical care they need. Our program helps patients manage withdrawal symptoms during this first, important step in their recovery.
